FAQs

A. The only soups that DO directly contain gluten are the Curried Cashew Soup (with pearl barley) and the Bavarian Barley Soup (with pearl barley).  The other soups do not contain gluten ingredients, although they are not certified gluten-free.  This is mainly because we need to carry forward the same disclaimer that some of our ingredients have: may contain traces of wheat, nuts, soy, sesame, mustard. There are a number of people who are gluten-intolerant that do eat our soups and have no problem with them, but unfortunately, we cannot offer any guarantees.

A. Some our soups do directly contain common allergens (e.g. barley, cashews, coconut, sesame, mustard) and these are stated on the soup labels and in the soup descriptions. We are very careful to avoid cross-contamination when making the soups, but please note that all the soups are made in the same kitchen facility. Some of our ingredients also have the disclaimer that they may contain traces of common allergens.  As such, all of our soups state the disclaimer “may contain traces of nuts, wheat, sesame, soy, mustard and coconut”, even if they are not directly in the soup.  If you have specific allergen questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email to info@localsoupgirl.ca or via phone or text to (647) 500-6117.

For those that would like lower sodium options, please note that most of our soup flavours are also available in a salt-free versions through our online store. To place this special request order, choose your soups in the online store and at Checkout, under “Order Notes”, simply request that the soups be salt-free.
